My car at the start of the season, third worst on grid. |
I made the step up to the WMC. I had the third worst car on the grid. I was getting Five Star sponsors. The Race Sponsors seem the be Mid-Pack finish, Top Two finish and a Fourth place finish. As I was always finishing inside the Top 10, I used these sponsors the most. I just took the other sponsors with the highest Initial Fee, as I would never use their Race Bonus.
I was initially disappointed with my step up. I was no longer contending for Championships and 1-2 Finishes. I chose a 6th place finish at the start of the season. So I soon just set about looking to outscore Van Dort Racing, as they were occupying 6th place after a few races.
I had a great start to the season, as I had the car fully reliable before the season started. This left me looking down for the rest of the championship. I had a fantastic 1-2 in Vancouver, I stayed out extra laps before the rain and got a very lucky Safety Car. This catapulted me into second place in the championship. After a series of part improvements, saw me possessing the 4th WORST car on the grid. I was battling for consistent 5-6 finishes. Panther are walking the series, with Steinmann and Kitano also doing well. I ended up cementing 3rd in the Championship. Rodrigues got a dodgy neck and I gave all the good parts to Pernet. I didn't bother improving the Engine or Gearbox, as they might be too expensive.
The prize money and "Next Year's Car" saw me having a kitty of €60M at the end of the year. The car, with the second most expensive parts, costs €41M. I decided to invest in my Design Buildings.
