Proof that Damien Touzé was Knowingly Weight Doping in the Zwift KISS Super League
Background
Monday the 11th of March seen Shane Miller upload a LAMA DRIVES video podcast to his channel. He went on a rant that, as Shane's videos do, generated lots of interest. The unnamed target of weight doping by 8KG, Damien Touzé of Team Cofidis.Lowering your weight on Zwift increases your Watts per Kilo Ratio and makes you go faster.
Adam Zimmerman and Ed Hopper, weighed in 500g over their stated weights. Ian Bibby was 2kg over and Jon Mould was 3kg over. No one really cared about the HB Supermint rider. That range was explainable, with weight fluctuations after flying to New York for the live event and dinner.
The LAMA DRIVES video that started it all:
Proof from SherLuke Holmes
As Shane didn't name the rider, I checked the images from Zwift's event. Then cross-referenced them against the ZwiftPower event profiles and low and behold, Damien Touzé of Team Cofidis was the culprit.Team Codifis have been Personas non-Grata in the Zwift KISS Community League, as their riders have just soft pedaled and not even tried a leg.
Something is rotten in the state of Cofidis.
Two of Cofidis's riders have also had drastic body transformations, Dimitri Claeys, who is 31 and should know better, lost 6kg and Anthony Perez packed on 4kg.
. @dimitriclaeys, @PerezAnthony1 and @TeamCOFIDIS, please explain this magic 14 day 6kg weight loss and the 4kg weight gain?@GoZwift #ZwiftKSL #Zwift— Luke GJ Potter (@lukegjpotter) March 11, 2019

@LaFlammeRouge16 put all the riders on blast on Twitter:
Damien Touzé (Cofidis) weighted 8kg(!) more than he set his Zwift weight at. Jon Mould, who had previously won two stages, was 3 kilograms too light in game. On average the riders at the venue were weighting 2kg more than they had set in-game. pic.twitter.com/4TMhgsK5ze— La Flamme Rouge (@laflammerouge16) March 11, 2019
Damien made a, since deleted, reply to @LaFlammeRouge16 Twitter Thread, saying that he had ate dinner before weighing in.
@LaFlammeRouge16 also deleted a tweet essentially stating that if riders were weight doping in a video game, what were they doing, in terms of doping, on the road.
I called him out too, but will a little more sarcasm:
... And @damientouze has blocked me, coward.— Luke GJ Potter (@lukegjpotter) March 11, 2019
He's also deleted his tweet about eating.
Let's say he's drank 3L of water, that leaves a 5KG dinner, which is at least 6,500cals.
I guess people don't like being called on their bullshit.#ZwiftKSL @TeamCOFIDIS #Zwift @GoZwift pic.twitter.com/xO20aHyDn9
Strava Data to the Rescue
So who's telling the truth, did Damien eat 6,500 cals of Rice?Lets check his Strava, YES, he has a Summit Account and I can read the Power Curve.
I took the 19:55 marker: 291W which is 4.28 W/Kg for him.
To derive Strava weight, and in the process prove that he was knowingly weight doping, by knowing that he was not 62kg, we simply follow the numbers.
291 / 4.28 = 67.99 KG
Damien, this was very foolish of you to weight dope. I hope we don't see your name sully our great sport again with actual biological or mechanical doping.
Another great mystery solved by SherLuke Homes.
Next week, the next mystery who ate all the pies, was it Damien Touzé?
