How to Create and Share a Zwift Group Ride

In this post, I will show you how to create a Zwift Club Group Spin, with a custom route, and enable Late Join and a Public Link. Then how to Share the Public Link, so anyone you share the link with can join your Group Spin.

Create the Event

Firstly, you need a role in your club, in order to create an Event. These roles are Moderator, or Owner.
You need to request this role from the Owner.

From the Zwift Club Home Screen, choose the Overflow Menu.

Click "Create Event".

In this instance, we're creating a Group Ride, so click that.

Choosing the Route and Settings

Ignore the presets, and scroll to the bottom, then choose "Routes".
Not pictured, but you can choose each world, and then the route. There's various ways to sort, to find the route that you want.

After choosing your Route, then set the settings. Click the "Change Settings" button.

Late Join, should already be enabled. It's a good option for a Group Ride, as it gives attendees a 30 minute window to join up. You may choose to disable it, if you are want to run a Race.

Event Results, is also a good option to enable. As some attendees may want to screenshot their result to show off on Strava.

In the "Visibility" section, I always select "Anyone with the event link can join", as this will allow people who haven't joined the club yet to join the Event. Sometimes, you might be a Moderator in the Event, and the Club Owner might be solely in charge of the Roster, and there may be attendees waiting in the purgatory of being in the "Applied to join" status.

Click Create, and you're almost good to go.

Share the Event

After, the event is created, we will then want to share it with attendees.
From the event screen, click on the Overflow Menu.

Then Click Share, and you'll be presented with you OS's standard Share Dialog.
You can copy the link, and paste it into whatever app you wish to.

I hope this helped,
Luke
